Point Loma: Day 6 of 12 Neighborhoods in San Diego

Point Loma: Day 6 of 12 Neighborhoods in San Diego

Martin: Hey everybody, San Diego’s Favorite Son, Martin Correia, and we are on day number 6 of 12 days of Neighborhoods in San Diego. And I’m here with Kira Kennedy.

Kira: Hello, how are you?!

Martin: Good, good, good. She completes the team.

Kira: San Diego’s Favorite Team.

Martin: That’s right, in the house, and where are we?

Kira: We are at Point Loma – Shelter Island at this amazing Tuna Memorial statue. Something I know that’s very near and dear to your heart. The birthplace of San Diego’s Favorite Son.

Martin: Well thank you. Thank you. Yeah, it is really special, because there’s so much that I want to share with you. My morals, my desire, my love for San Diego started right here: 4th of July’s back in the day. I can go on and on. But we’re going to take just a quick look and we’re going to slowly meander here. Nicolette’s doing a great job helping us out. And we’re going to see the flip side of this because what it’s doing is this Memorial also honors the pioneers, also the the founders and of course unfortunately those that we lost at sea. So it takes a lot of that and it’s a real special piece of culture here. But you know, as we talk about point Loma, uh, why don’t we just go right into a little bit of the, uh, the, you know, the, some of the, the analytics and numbers with real estate.

Kira: Definitely. Um, so the average days on market for a single-family detached home here in Point Loma is about $1.1 million. Um, you’re looking at about 36 days on market for that. For an attached home, which there isn’t that many out here – you’re looking at $775,000 and with the average of 34 days on the market.

Martin: Interesting, interesting.

Kira: Median age, you’re looking at 38 and about 19,000 people.

Martin: That number is real critical because it really just shows you it’s a real night, nice tight community. Um, you know, the fishing industry was the, was the second largest industry back in the sixties and seventies. And as we had shared before. And when you look at this, this, this history, it really, uh, it’s, it’s special. You know, and it’s interesting because, uh, with that small knitt, I bet you ask all 19,000 – they don’t want to live anywhere else. They don’t want to live anywhere else. But, um, uh, the other part that I would say, you know, we’re right here in shelter Island, so you’ve got Kona Kai um, right across from, from La Playa, uh, the beach over there. You’ve got a Humphrey’s – shout out, right?

Kira: Come see me! Live music every night!

Martin: That’s it. That’s it. That’s it. And, um, three best views: North PB, South La Jolla, the downtown area, looking out West and Point Loma, looking out East. Hands down.

Kira: Downtown skyline and white water views.

Martin: Yeah. It’s unbelievable. Unbelievable. So we appreciate you coming by. Always taking the time to hear us out. We’re here for you to answer any of your real estate or your real estate needs and…

Kira: Make it a great day, everybody.
